The sponsorship will see Ciesco and Stow-on-the-Wold RFC work together to enhance and continue Stow’s rugby vision of player focus, in order to create opportunities.
Stow-on-the-Wold RFC is a family friendly rugby club open to all of the community, based in the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. They have a rich rugby heritage with 2 senior men’s teams (Level 6 and level 9) a ladies team, Colts and mini and juniors section with more than 350 players and 500 members. The Ciesco brand will appear on the club’s shirts for Colts and both Senior teams, hoodies for the Women’s team, and U16s shirts until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Nicknamed “The Corns”, Stow-on-the-Wold RFC are one of the oldest rugby clubs in England, having been founded in 1879 by the railway workers housed in the old Unicorn Inn in Stow-on-the-Wold. They also call themselves “the little club on the hill” as they compete against much larger clubs at Level 6 of the RFU structure and last season they finished 4th in the Regional 2 Southwest league – the highest position in their history. Their focus on player development has produced four England international players in recent years, such as Elliott Stooke (Montpellier), Ollie Thorley (Gloucester), Arthur Clarke (Gloucester) and Will Goodricke-Clarke (London Irish/Ealing), all of whom are current professionals and regularly come home to support the Corns.
